YOU WERE ALL BRILLIANT

We hope you enjoyed The Bristol Miniday 2002 - we certainly did! Everyone (and everything) entered into the spirit of the day; the sun shone, the air was balmy and the atmosphere relaxed and happy.

We had a really big range of fantastic cars in the show and shine - best in show this year went to Robert Schroeder in Rover Mini, B26 SFW. All Class Winners have been invited to attend the show next year to enter into a 2002 winners display, leaving the coast clear for new winners for 2003.

The Club Competitions certainly entertained - well, how long would it take you to eat a whole large bar of chocolate? Thought it was easy? Well think again! Competitors kazoo'd (or gazoo'd?) with varying degrees of success and we certainly had a wide range of Austin Powers. Blindfold driving skills sounds difficult- and it was! We thought we would foil even the best yo-yo-ist with our very basic "Bob the Builder" Yo-yo's, but no. For that competition, we had five joint winners who looked like they could have yo-yo'd all day. It was often a close run thing, with last year's winners, Pembrokeshire MOC, being chased off the top spot this year by 2002 winners Swansea - whose Club Stand, we have to say, was one of the best we've seen.

The mod scooter display was extremely well received - so many people stood gazing with a distant, dreamy look about them - clearly reliving their youth. Over 120 Minis joined in the Cruise with the scooters which really was a sight to see - we've got loads of photos of the cruise in the photogallery, as well as disco-dancing Mini fans, brilliant cars, fun competitions, people - we hope you like it.
